Confirmation Packets
Now that you’ve registered for an
Orientation session, there are some things you should know before
arrival for your session.
Immunization Requirement
All
new, transfer and readmit students must submit medically signed proof of
two properly administered MMR (Measles, Mumps,
Rubella) immunizations OR immune titers for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps,
and Rubella. Students born before January 1, 1957 are exempt from this
requirement. This is a requirement for attendance at all South Dakota
Regental Institutions. Failure to comply will result in a hold on
registration for any future semester.
Student Health &
Counseling Services provides assistance, including any needed
immunizations, to meet this requirement. The clinic is
open for appointments on Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm. The cost of the Measles/Mumps/Rubella
(MMR) immunization is $55. Meningitis immunizations will also be
available at a cost of $103.
For additional information and to print
off a copy of the Immunization Form, please visit
the
Student Health and Counseling Services Website.
Modern Language Placement Test
The
Modern Languages Placement Tests are available for students who have
previous knowledge of a modern language (Spanish, German, or French) and
plan on taking modern language courses at SDSU. The test places you in
an appropriate course level. You will receive credit for the courses up
to 202 (101, 102, 201, and 202) after having completed a higher level
course with a grade of C or better. The placement tests for Spanish,
German, and French are available online. You can take the test by
visiting the
Modern Language Department website.
You may take the test
anytime, but we recommend that you take it before coming to Orientation.
The test is free and can be taken more than once. Be sure to print off
your test results and bring them with you to Orientation. For
additional information about Modern Languages, please visit the website
above.

reading -- will be offered at Orientation. You must take the COMPASS
test if any of the below situations apply to you:
