Two different
complexes make up what is named “Family Student Housing” (FSH); State Court
and State Village. The name comes from the fact that this is South Dakota
State University and the units fit their name sake.
State Court is made up of six buildings
that have eight one bedroom apartments in each building. Buildings are
all in a row creating a small courtyard between the structures, hence
the title State Court. State Village is made up of ten individual
buildings randomly placed, with both one and two bedroom units, the
casual layout gives a more village feeling, hence the name State
Village.

The two
complexes are conveniently located on the southeast edge of campus. Family
Student Housing is within walking distance of SDSU’s main academic buildings
as well as off-campus grocery and food outlets. Students with children will
enjoy the new playground located on the generous grounds surrounding the FSH
complex. Plus there are many features you may not find in other apartment
complexes such as; one assigned parking spot for each apartment, a live-in
apartment manager, and on-site coin-operated laundry.
Budget conscious students with spouses
and/or dependents will be especially interested in the comfortable,
affordable housing offered in the Family Student Housing apartment
complexes. Low monthly rent with utilities included, and a modest
security deposit make FSH apartment living particularly cost effective.
The on-site apartment manager assists residents with concerns pertaining
to the apartments and can answer questions about the city for those new
to the area. For more information please contact the
Coordinator for Apartments
or call the central office at 605-688-5148.
