South Dakota State University has contracted with ARAMARK Inc. to operate University Food Services.

10:01 Requirements.
All students living in residence halls, except Wecota Annex and 12 month housing contract students, are required to use the campus food service facilities unless excused for reasons of health or finance (see 10:03:03 below). Food plans are optional for residents of Wecota Annex, and Berg and Bailey Apartments.

10:02 Exemption from food service.

10:02:01 In all instances, $122.00 Bond and Utility fee plus applicable sales tax must be paid. This fee covers the basic University costs, including debt service.

10:02:02 Medical Reasons: Requests will be handled through the Health Service. The University Food Service will make every effort to accommodate special diets which are recommended through the Student Health Service. Student Health Service personnel will notify the Director of Residential Life and the Director of University Food Service if an exemption is permitted for medical reasons.

10:02:03 Financial Hardship: A request for release from food service for financial reasons will be referred to Financial Aid Office personnel for evaluation.

10:03 Refunds

10:03:01 Mandatory Meal Plan: Any applicable refunds shall be made in accordance with the current Residence Hall and Food Service contract and the contract between SDSU and ARAMARK.


10:03:02 Voluntary Meal Plan: Any applicable refunds shall be made in accordance with the contract between SDSU and ARAMARK.

10:04 Food Service Dress.
Appropriate dress for the dining facilities must, at a minimum, include shirt-blouse, pants-skirt, and shoes.

10:05 Off-campus groups using food service.
University Food Service will accommodate the needs of all groups sponsored by the University.
